# <small>nlohmann::json_pointer::</small>empty

bool empty() const noexcept;
```

Return whether pointer points to the root document.

## Return value

`#!cpp true` iff the JSON pointer points to the root document.

## Exception safety

No-throw guarantee: this function never throws exceptions.

## Complexity

Constant.
